Case Study 01 · Personal Records Briefing
The Starting Point
A retired civil servant in Johor Bahru had accumulated thirty-plus years of household records with no consistent labelling or storage approach. Documents were spread across four different locations in the home and several were missing entirely.
What the Session Covered
The briefing session walked through the standard categories of personal records, with particular attention to property, identity, and household accounts. The facilitator provided a simple checklist alongside the printed sheet to assist with an initial at-home inventory.
After the Session
Using the provided folder structure and briefing sheet, the participant organised approximately 80 per cent of their records within a week. The remaining items became the focus of a follow-up conversation. No further session was needed.

Case Study 02 · Records Reorganisation Programme
The Starting Point
A couple in their early sixties, planning to retire within two years, had substantial records accumulated over their working lives — including property documents from two different states and insurance records from policies taken out at various points. Their adult children lived overseas and had no working knowledge of the household records.
What the Programme Covered
Four sessions over five weeks. The first session established an inventory baseline. Sessions two and three covered labelling and folder organisation by category. The fourth session produced the family reference binder and reviewed the completed scanning checklist. A handbook was printed and handed over at the final session.
After the Programme
The household's records were consolidated from seven storage locations into three. The family reference binder was shared digitally with their children overseas. The scanning checklist resulted in digital copies of fourteen categories of records being created and stored securely.
"We came in with a lot of material and left with something our children can actually follow. The binder sits on the shelf and we both know where it is. That alone was worth the programme."
Case Study 03 · Records Pairing Session
The Starting Point
Two sisters, both in their fifties, had inherited a small amount of shared property and financial account paperwork from a parent's estate. Each had her own version of "where things were" but the two versions did not quite match. A trusted adviser suggested they align their records before any formal steps were taken.
What the Session Covered
The pairing session gave both participants a shared framework for understanding the categories of records involved and a labelling approach they both agreed on. The facilitator kept the session firmly within document organisation and directed the sisters to their solicitor for anything requiring professional input.
After the Session
Both participants left with the same printed reference summary and folder set. The shared language around labelling reduced the friction in their subsequent conversations. They reported that having a neutral, organised starting point made subsequent professional consultations more straightforward.
